About Us

Having lived and worked with dogs and horses, we understand what the discerning dog owner requires.

Over the years we always had difficulty finding genuinely dog-friendly cottages and dog proof gardens.

This was of particular importance for our flat-coated retriever champ, who was a notorious escapee and many an exhausting days holiday was spent tracking him down as he pursued one of his unescorted escapades.

The idea of owning our holiday cottage was born. The property had to be secluded but not remote, have an enclosed garden, on a no through road, provide ample walks of varying degrees from the door or proximity and be centrally located for the surrounding areas of the outstanding natural beauty of the Lakes, Yorkshire Dales and North Pennines.

The peaceful location is ideal for nervous dogs.
Our search brought us to the hamlet of Heggerscales a ‘hidden gem’ and Fell View tasteful barn conversion some four miles from the historic market town of Kirkby Stephen in Cumbria.
