Thanks for visiting my website. Darcy’s Cottage was my first cottage, opened in 2009. Dashwood and Willoughby’s Loft didn’t arrive until 2015. Jane Austen fans will note the theme of Heroes, Heroines and Villains.
I am not Yorkshire born or bred having moved here sixteen years ago for my two Deaf sons to attend St John’s School for the Deaf. However, it is officially the longest I have ever lived in one place and I now feel very much like a Yorkshirewoman. It really is God’s Own Country. So much to see and do; Coast, Moor, Dale and Wold. York City is frequently voted the best place to live in Britain. If you visit, you will see why.
As a family, we have over thirty years plus experience of holidaying in self-catered cottages and I use that to make sure my guests feel totally at home and have the best holiday experience.

About Darcy's Cottages
Darcy’s Cottages are set in the village of Holtby, a charming little village just outside York. With the city centre less than 15 minutes away, you have the best of both worlds; the delightful small country village atmosphere of old Yorkshire twinned with the vibrant city of York. The park and ride is only 5 minutes away with regular buses into York. There is also a bus stop at the edge of the village, with buses every 30 minutes during peak times. Taxis from the centre of York are in the region of £15.
There is parking on site for up to 4 cars, more on request and parking in the village is not restricted.
